1. Authorization problems are the leading cause. Authentication is not the same as authorization.
2. Authentication. Internal APIs that get made public, or APIs that have faulty authentication checks are a source of pain.
3. Enumeration and probing. Many APIs only document a limited number of endpoints, but common frameworks may create additional endpoints that expose more data or functionality.
4. Injection. Many developers don't control for, or sanitize the input to their APIs.
