Today we sit down with investor and entrepreneur Mark Moss to talk about everything from the gold market, the Ohio Pension Fund, Warren Buffett, to Bitcoin investment strategies.

Half of the Baby Boomers today have zero dollars in savings. The other half, the ones with savings, have less than $100k in the bank. This is alarming for everyone as it seems the principles of old aren't holding up to today's ever-changing world. The old adages are no longer working for people:
* Go To College
* Get A Good Job
* Work Your Entire Life
* Save For Retirement
The times are changing and having a sound investment strategy along with the industry knowledge and an understanding of diversity is crucial to being successful.

The rise of the internet has created a sort of equality amongst investors in that anything can be found on almost any topic. From specialized newsletters to YouTube channels, and even Twitter, investors all over the world are using new ways of learning to give them an edge.

Having different sources of knowledge is also key to having a solid portfolio. As an investor, it's not about picking one single investment that's going to be perfect. It's about investing in multiple sectors that all have a high likely hood of success. Legendary investor Warren Buffett has been successful by investing in different sectors and specific stocks within those sectors.

Buffett has even recently taken a liking to gold with a $600,000,000 million dollar investment into Barrick Gold Corp. This is the first time ever that the billionaire has bought gold and is something smart investors are taking note of. Buffett isn't the only one buying gold. While central banks have been increasing the money supply, they have simultaneously been buying gold in higher quantities than at any point in the last 50 years.

Along with Buffett, The Ohio Pension Fund recently announced they had allocated 5% of their fund to gold. This is an unprecedented case of gold allocation as typical pension funds only allocate around 2-3% to gold.

Other savvy investors are buying digital gold ie Bitcoin. Paul Tudor Jones allocated around 1% of his funds' money into Bitcoin and has stated he wished he would have done more. He's now advocating that all funds invest 1-2% into Bitcoin.

What could this do to the price of these assets if funds are now allocating in this way?

The smart money is buying gold and bitcoin and for good reason. As the banks keep printing money, the value of the currency decreases. This creates inflation. Which leads to a loss of purchasing power. In fact, the dollars purchasing power decreased by over 96% since 1913. And it seems there is no end in sight to the decline in purchasing power. With the loss of purchasing power, investors are looking for methods to preserve their wealth.

Using dollar-cost averaging to invest is one of the smartest ways an investor can buy assets.
How dollar-cost averaging works: With each paycheck, a certain amount of an investment will be purchased no matter the price of the asset. This ensures that over time, with ups and downs in the market, a portfolio will have a good base price for the underlying assets.

Many investors try to time the market and this is almost never a good strategy. Dollar-cost averaging alleviates the pain that can come from a poorly timed trade.

Everyone should be investing for income, not for savings.
