Jharkhand Students' Protest: Devendra Nath Mahato On Indefinite Hunger Strike Over Irregularities

Student leader Devendra Nath Mahato launched an indefinite hunger strike at Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium in Ranchi amid protests over alleged irregularities in JPSC, JSSC CGL and other competitive examinations. The protesting students are demanding greater transparency, accountability and reforms in the examination process. They have urged the Hemant Soren-led Jharkhand government to engage in talks and address their concerns. As part of the agitation, aspirants also organised a Mashal March to highlight their demands. Mahato stated that he would continue his hunger strike until the demands submitted to the Chief Minister are fulfilled. He demanded cancellation of the Preliminary Test of the 14th JPSC Combined Civil Services Examination and called for scrutiny of examinations conducted through TDPL agencies. He also sought strict action against those responsible for alleged irregularities and pledged to continue the movement to bring reforms in the JPSC and JSSC recruitment systems.
