Having been in social media for over 12 years, I’ve had my fair share of lunch invites. This what I know:

1. The information they are seeking is usually so much deeper than we can get into during a 1 hr lunch.

2. It would probably take a week’s worth of lunches to consult with them in a way that they can actually implement and make considerable change.

3. If I truly want to help them, which I do (even if we haven’t talked or seen each other in months, or ever), the BEST thing I can do for them is to point them towards one of the very detailed resources I’ve created.

4. My time with my family & friends is precious and limited. If I’m going to be less available to them, I have to be responsible & considerate in where I invest that time away.

Hopefully these thoughts might help you have more confidence in the protection you place on your time as a business owner.
