AMC "Hollywood Ghost Stories" 'Elke Sommer's haunted house' segment (1998)

"Hollywood Ghost Stories" was an hour-long documentary produced especially for American Movie Classics' 1998 iteration of MonsterFest: "House of Horrors" —you remember, the one with Tim Burton. William Shatner's spooky narration guided viewers through Hollywood's most infamous, erm, _haunts._ I don't think the full documentary was ever broadcast in subsequent MonsterFests, but it certainly was recycled for filler between movies. In fact, I don't think I ever saw the original broadcast version, only in this ersatz digest format.

Such is the source of this clip, in which star Elke Sommer tells us about the poltergeist haunting the North Beverly Hills house she and husband Joe Hyams lived in during the 1960s.

Originally recorded October 31, 1999 circa 4:40 am EST on EP-mode VHS; transferred in 2025 over S-video from a Mitsubishi HS-U746 VCR to DVD-R on Panasonic DMR-ES15.
