After the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, in which 26 civilians were slaughtered, the US appeared to be on India’s side.

Vice President JD Vance said he hoped Pakistan, “to the extent that they are responsible”, cooperates with India in hunting down terrorists that “sometimes operate” in their territory.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the US stands “in solidarity” with India and supports its “right to defend itself.

But when India unleashed Operation Sindoor to avenge the Pahalgam attack, and rained missiles on terror camps in Pakistan, the US stood conspicuously still.

Sure, they were quick to 'urge de-escalation', but America refused to take a stand
