Satch Boogie hit the 80s rock scene like a freight train, and quickly established Joe Satriani as one of the foremost guitarist of all-time. It's catchy riff and legato-stylings brought guitar instrumentals to the spotlight again, and spawned a whole new generation of players to enjoy.
Hard to believe that Joe Satriani turns 60 in 2016, but he continues to amaze audiences with his virtuoso playing, as evidenced in this LIVE clip of Satch Boogie, recorded from the front row at his concert at the Moncton Casino.
Many of us had (have) that excellent Surfing with the Alien CD from Joe Satriani, and track # 5 (Satch Boogie) was just one of the many treasures to be found. What was cool at the time was that the album SWTA and song Satch boogie cracked the top 30 of the Billboard sales charts.
