Participation works wonders when using these videos to learn addition! This method is simple and works for higher single digit numbers when the student is ready for larger numbers.
1) Identify the large number as the starting point.
2) Count the small number on your fingers to see how many to add.
3) Count up to the large number (or say the large number to yourself).
4) Count up on your fingers until you use all your fingers.
Make sure you begin on your fingers one digit AFTER you say the starting number.
If the student participates along with the video (counting and using fingers), understanding will come even if it is not totally clear at first.
If this set moves too slow, go to the "Practice Addition" series.
