हाईपरटेंशन यानी हाई ब्लड प्रेशर को अक्सर "साइलेंट किलर" कहा जाता है, क्योंकि इसके लक्षण धीरे-धीरे सामने आते हैं और लोग इन्हें नज़रअंदाज़ कर देते हैं। The Healthsite के वॉडकास्ट एपिसोड में डाइटिशियन रमिंदर कौर देशमुख ने बताया कि हाई BP सिर्फ तनाव या उम्र का असर नहीं है, बल्कि आपकी डाइट भी इसमें अहम रोल निभाती है। ज़्यादा नमक, प्रोसेस्ड फूड, कम फाइबर वाली डाइट और पानी की कमी, ये सब ब्लड प्रेशर को बिगाड़ सकते हैं। वहीं, पोटैशियम, मैग्नीशियम और फाइबर से भरपूर चीज़ें जैसे फल, हरी सब्ज़ियां और साबुत अनाज, ब्लड प्रेशर को कंट्रोल करने में मदद करते हैं।
