Eric Goldman's Jewish Cinémathèque: "The Spy Behind Home Plate"

Aviva Kempner, the noted Jewish documentarian and director of the 2019 documentary "The Spy Behind Home Plate," sits down with Eric and explains how this unique film project, which chronicles the fascinating life and times of Jewish American spy and ballplayer Moe Berg, came into being. Eric also goes through her entire filmmaking career with her, touching on previous films about Hank Greenberg, Julius Rosenwald (the philanthropic Sears Roebuck CEO who funded the construction of numerous schools for African Americans in the 1910s and 1920s), and Gertrude Berg, the early television star who created and starred in the hit show, "The Goldbergs," and served as a model for later stars like Lucille Ball.
