Adobe in Ethiopia a film by Denise Kießling

Population growth causes an increasing construction activity in Ethiopia.
Wood as a dominating building material decreases rapidly, therefore an alternative is needed.
The report portraits three construction projects in different regions of the country, which use „Adobes“, air dried earthen bricks as building material.
One project is located in the Afar region, where students from Vienna University of Technology introduced this old construction technique to the local citizens.
