10 Slang Words You NEED To Know in 2022
10 slang words you need to know in 2022!
#learnenglish #English #speakenglish
You've probably seen words such as LIT, SHADE, and FIT on social media, in Youtube comments, or on Tiktok. But do you know know what they mean? 🤔
Most of the words featured in this video come from AAVE (African-American Vernacular English), which is a common informal dialect of English spoken mostly by working and middle-class black Americans.
As the words have been picked up by popular culture and modern media, what once were words only used by this particular group of people have slowly developed into slang words used by people outside of this group too (as you’ll see by some examples in the video with white, US speakers using the words too now).
Even I, a white European, use them too, like many of my friends and acquaintances on this side of the world - and we use them as modern slang. So, today I'll be teaching you what these words mean and how to recognize them, understand them, and use them, if you want to. 🙂
❗By the way - If I speak a little too fast, you can change the speed in settings!
