2017 Solar Eclipse from Near Space | Project Stratoclipse 1200g weather balloon flight

HD video of 2017's Great American Total Solar Eclipse from near space! On August 21st 2017 Project Stratoclipse creators, Beau Hartweg and Jake Vaught, launched a 1200g weather balloon from the eclipse path centerline in Marshall, Missouri. Their GoPro payload vehicle (Stratoclipse III) was timed perfectly to achieve maximum altitude as the eclipse shadow raced over the Midwest. The results you see here are the product of over a year's worth of research, planning, and testing. This could not have been achieved without the help of some really fantastic friends and family.
