In February 1531, a cook added something to a pot of porridge. Two people died. The man who was supposed to die didn't eat that morning. And when news reached the king, he didn't call for a trial. He called for Parliament.
Within weeks, England had a new law. Written for one man. Applied backward. To an act that had already happened.
Then they boiled him alive in front of the city.
