Each year my firstborn adds to his life I am discovering how they become more their own than ours. It’s bittersweet to see dependence and independence increase and diminish in specific places. I have to be honest about that as a mother, lest I become too blinded by the reality I increasingly need to face. Motherhood has always been letting go from the very beginning. And you can only hope that you are able to help raise a child you’d like to be very much with someday, and vice versa. That you are changed to be more and more into the person your children also want to be with someday. 💕 I LOVE YOU SO MUCH PHILIP.
