GM’s $900M V8 Investment: Ditching EV plant for Gas Engines in 2025!
General Motors is investing $888 million in its Tonawanda plant to produce a new generation of V8 gas engines for its full-size trucks and SUVs, starting in 2027. This move prioritizes combustion engines over a previously planned EV drive unit production at the same plant. The investment aims to improve engine performance, fuel efficiency, and emissions, while securing over 850 jobs in Western New York.
