CATCHING SQUIDS AT SEATTLE WATERFRONT | Puget Sound Squid Fishing | Squid Jigging At Night

Catching squids is fun and very addictive. Squid fishing can be done all year round, however, it seems to be more popular during the cold season in the Puget Sound. Importantly, it can be done from the shore. Some popular places for squid fishing include Alki (Water Taxi) and Seattle Waterfront (Pier 56, 69, and 70). If you just want to try it out, you don't really need a generator and a flood light. You'll probably can fit yourself into a spot at a local pier. Squid normally come in as school and once they are in, no light is needed. Regarding jig, I recommend that you buy jigs from someone from pier, usually home-made. I have tried using squid jigs from local stores, but they are not as effective as the home-made jigs. Normally, you won't be able to tell the difference until it slows down. Until then, you'll notice that those who pull up squids are likely the one that use home-made jigs.
