Paris Hails The Queen (1957)

Paris, France.
GV. Viscount aircraft taxiing to standstill at Orly Airport, Paris. GV. The plane comes to a standstill and everybody is lined up and waiting. AS. Orly, Paris. GV. The Queen Elizabeth II alighting from the Viscount. LV. Queen comes down the steps followed by the Duke of Edinburgh. She is greeted by French President Rene Coty. SV. Cameramen. LV. The Queen walks with Coty along carpet from the plane in front of troops lined up for inspection, & GV. & LV. SV. Sign "Paris" and underneath "E II R" on top of canopy. SCU. The Queen shakes hands with officials in the Airport reception room. President Coty is with her. AS. Union Jack and French flag flying. SV. Towards, car flanked by mounted guards driving slowly to the Elysee Palace. SV. Tracking shot as the Queen waves to the crowd along the route. President Coty is sitting with her in open car, & SV. GV. From car, of roadway ahead. LV. As car makes its way along. SV. Crowd waiting around Elysee Palace. LV. Car drives into Palace gates. GV. Elysee Palace with guard drawn up outside. SCU. Guard outside Palace presenting arms. AS. Queen, Prince Philip and President Coty come onto balcony.
AS. Union Jack with sun behind it. CU. Soldier standing to attention with gun. GV. Car and escort of motorcyclists making its way to Arc de Triomphe, & LV. Queen sits with French Minister of Defence M. Bourges-Maunoury. GV. Champs Elysee from top of Arc de Triomphe, procession coming down it. AS. Arc de Triomphe, pan up to crowds on top. CU. The flame burning on tomb of unknown warrior. SV. Large wreath is put down, the Queen and Duke come forward and help place it. Queen and Duke stand back. CU. Wreath with Royal card on it. SV. CU. Plate, napkin and glasses set out on table. GV. Interior, State Banquet, President Coty speaking. SCU. President Coty speaking (natural sound - French). He talks about friendship of the two countries. CU. Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh sitting at table. SV. Other guests sitting at table. GV. Queen Elizabeth II standing and speaking. CU. Queen says that France and England should continue to be the guardian of freedom and lead Europe... she toasts to the two countries. Everybody stands up. Queen is still speaking, she takes a drink. SCU. Queen sitting down with President Coty. General chatter (natural sound is on during this scene) and she laughs at President Coty's joke.
GV. Exterior of Paris Opera House. SV. Interior, people going up steps inside. SV. Towards, car carrying President Coty and Queen, leaving Elysee Palace. SV. Pan, the Queen and President Coty sitting in car as it leaves. GV. Street as the cars make their way towards Opera House, with motorcycle escort. SV. Crowd waving, some giving "V" sign. TV. Cars carrying the Queen and President Coty followed by others, heading towards Opera House. SV. Policeman pushing crowds back. SV. Car coming to standstill and door is opened for the Queen to step out. SCU. Crowd waving. SV. Pan, the Queen with President Coty going into Opera House. SCU. Republican Guards. SV. Queen introduces dancer Liane Dayde who bows to the Queen. The Queen turns round and shakes hands with male dancer Michel Renault. President Coty shakes hands with Liana Dayde. CU. The two dancers. SV. Pan, the Queen and President Coty walking along inside Opera House making their way to the balcony. SV. Crowds outside waving. LV. Queen comes out on the balcony with Prince Philip and President Coty and waves to crowd. SCU. Crowd waving back. AS. The Queen flanked by Coty and the Duke waving to crowds.
