Who Pays for a Termite Inspection When Buying a Home

When buying a house who pays for the termite inspection report? It can be the seller or the buyer that can pay for the termite inspection and clearance.

One of the most important report to have completed is the termite inspection. This report will inform you if the property has active termites or can be vulnerable for termites in the future. Termite can literally destroy your home right underneath you if you do not do your diligence when buying a house.

The report is not required but highly recommended when utilizing the FHA, USDA or Conventional home loan program, but required in California with a VA purchase or refinance.

Discuss the termite inspection with your real estate agent on who will pay for the report and fix any section 1 or section 2 items that may appear in the body of the termite report.
