Mike May's HOn3 White Pass & Yukon Layout Tour NNG 11 Jan 2021

Mike May gives a comprehensive briefing, with both slides and video, on how and why he built and operates his HOn3 scale model of the White Pass & Yukon Railroad (WP&Y). He demonstrates the theatre lights he uses to create special effects, including a realistic projection of Northern Lights on the backdrop. He shows his unique cars built with 3d printing methods. Mike's presentation was part of the second in a series of layout tours, clinics and vendor presentations that are being planned by a group of avid narrow gage modelers around the world calling themselves "National Narrow Gage" (NNG.groups.io). We have started this series of presentations called "Off the Beaten Track" to capture layouts located in remote areas that are not likely to be included in future in-person model railroad conventions that may occur after the pandemic is over.
