Geothermal Mud Pots, Imperial County, California

Located on the San Andreas fault, the Geothermal Mud Pots release warm mud, carbon dioxide and an oily odor. Over time, the mud forms volcano-like formations. The formation is officially known as the Davis-Schrimpf Seep Field.
