Political commentator Emily Carver has criticised the "censorship" of songs and comedy for its effect on free speech.

Speaking with talkRADIO's Mike Graham, she said: "If they ban the words we can use then they will by extension start banning what we’re thinking"

It comes after BBC Radio 1 announced it will play an edited version of Christmas favourite Fairytale Of New York to avoid offending listeners.
