Vegeta is one of the most popular anime characters of all time and it’s not hard to see why. He’s part evil bad guy, part of the Dragon Ball Super tag team with Goku and he’s a begrudgingly great Dad. Of all the characters in the series, perhaps none have gone through more or grown as much as the prince of all Saiyans has. When his arc began, he wanted nothing more than to take over the Earth. Now he fights and will even sacrifice his life to save it.

That being said, he’s made quite a few questionable decisions over the years that have left him with some of the franchise’s biggest failures. Whether that’s failing to conquer the Earth in the first place even though he almost had it, to taking on a villain who is way out of his league even though he was bragging about his own power or allowing a villain to gain the upperhand even though victory was in his grasp, Vegeta has proven that he’s his own worst enemy.

This has led to the prideful Saiyan being shamed in front of all of his friends and enemies multiple times over as Goku inevitably swoops in and saves the day instead of him. No matter how hard Vegeta tries, it seems like he’s always one step behind his arch-rival.
