Exploring an Abandoned Soviet base in Latvia - Skrunda-1
Skrunda-1 was a base housing over 5000 people - families, scientists and soldiers to protect a 19 story radar station. It existed from the 1960s to the late 1990s, when the last Russians left. Once the radar station (used to detect missiles from the west) was blown up, the base was left to rot in the woods.
