Our wildlife water set up (with float valve)

Just a quick video showing how our wildlife watering points are set up, with a 200L plastic drum and Bainbridge trough float valve (~$23AU on eBay). You might chuckle at the "hand tighten only" on the trough valve followed by footage of the hose fitting being mauled in with pliers - the only problem we have had with any of the trough float valves is minor leaking at the point where the hose outlet screws into the float valve assembly, so we go for a bit more than hand-tightening. During 40°C + summer days, the 200L drum will keep the water container topped up for at least 2 weeks. We refill the drum from drums transported on a box trailer, using a hand-powered bilge pump. Definitely low-tech.
