A tornado swept through the township of Jingguzi in Telin City, Liaoning Province, Thursday afternoon, injuring 13 people, severely injuring 60 families, and cancelling high-speed trains.
According to Zhang Qingqing, a doctor in Faku County in Shenyang province, a tornado also struck the town of Shuangtaiqi, toppling the roof of a chicken coop. "Since this is a relatively open rural area, no casualties were reported," Zhang said.
This is the second such natural disaster in the area in recent years. In 2019, six people were killed and more than 190 injured in a tornado that struck Caiyuan.
