Since so many people are starting YouTube, I thought it would be a good idea to share what I think are the best free video editor software for you to start your YouTube journey. In my opinion, these video editing programs are the top 5 best free editing software that you can have on your computer, and they are all available for Windows 10, Linux or Mac.

When deciding the top 5 best free video editing software, I ensured that that each free video editing program matches the following criteria. After I found the apps that met the criteria, I narrowed it down to the best editing software:
1. Each free video editing software has all of the functionality you would need for YouTube (splitting, trimming, combining clips, adding music, etc)
2. Each of the top 5 free video editing software must be available for Windows and for Mac
3. Each of the top 5 free editing software must have no watermarks after the video is produced (this is unacceptable in 2020)!
