The Collapse of Fantage

Making this video has unlocked so much nostalgia for me. I used to literally spend every day on Fantage, no joke, and yes, I have paid some hundred dollars into for the in-game purchases. It’s such a bittersweet game though. As much as I had so much fun throughout the years, it also did become a pay-to-win where items were essential to your identity. I hated it, but fell into the culture trap anyways.

HUGE shoutout to Dilly Tante for all of the research done in their article (https://fantagediscord.wordpress.com/2020/11/26/article-what-lead-up-to-the-shut-down-of-fantage-in-2018-opinion/). Their article allowed me to tell the story of Fantage as accurate as possible and I’m amazed at their dedication.
