Adams co-simulation with Easy5 for Hydraulic Analysis of Large Machinery

Hydraulic drive systems are commonly found in heavy machinery. These hydraulic systems are typically designed 'standalone' to deliver proper response times, load capacities and so on. Successfully integrating a hydraulic system into large, moving machinery can have challenges associated with hydraulic system sizing, hydraulic/dynamic system interactions, controllability under varied inertial loading, and other complex effects.

Using Adams to accurately model the dynamics of the moving system provides an accurate picture of the kinematics (motion) as well as dynamics (loading) in the system. Modeling the hydraulic system in Easy5 and mating that to the dynamic Adams model allows an Engineer to simulate complex interactions that may occur between the two systems. Running both Adams and Easy5 together in a "co-simulation" environment produces detailed simulations that capture the dynamics of the hydraulic system, the dynamics of the multi-body system and the dynamics of any resulting interactions between the systems.

This webinar will demonstrate how to build high-fidelity machinery models in Adams and how to model complex hydraulic systems in Easy5 using a simple block diagram approach. The two systems will then be integrated via a co-simulation approach yielding a highly detailed, highly accurate simulation of the overall system.
