I have Advanced Periodontal (GUM) disease. What are my options?

Do you have receding, swollen, or bleeding gums? If you have receding gums, pain upon chewing, or a sense that your teeth are moving while you eat, you may have an advanced stage of Periodontal Disease. You may have been diagnosed with an advanced stage of periodontal disease by your dentist.
If so, you may wonder what your options are and if you should remove all of your teeth.
In this video, our hygienists in Lincoln, NE will explain what your options are after your diagnosis of Advanced Periodontal disease.
Option #1 for patients with Advanced Periodontal [gum] Disease
You may want to save your teeth and often you can do so. You can not get the bone levels back, but there are some things you can do to put Advanced Periodontal Disease (gum) disease in remission.
Option #2 for patients with Advanced Periodontal [gum] Disease
Some patients may decide to get a full mouth replacement. The best option for replacing all teeth is a Hybrid Prosthesis or Hybrid Bridge. This is an option for permanent non-removable teeth replacement. Some patients call it "four-in-one", “permanent denture" or "implant non-removable denture.” Those names are not correct as this is a non-removable bridge and not a denture.
Option #3 for patients with Advanced Periodontal [gum] Disease
Another option is to get implant retained dentures. This is a great options for replacing teeth affected by Advanced Periodontal Disease or if patients have abscessed teeth. Implant retained dentures have a great fit and look amazing, but it is a removable option.
Option #4 for patients with Advanced Periodontal [gum] Disease
The final option is to get cosmetic dentures. This particular type of dentures is a high-end cosmetic dentures made to look natural and amazing .
This option is only for patients that have enough bone for retention and do not require dental implants.
