In this video we shall explore the state of the city of Rome during its peak. Firstly, when was the peak even? We shall see: A lot later than is commonly believed. We shall see how the emperor Maxentius, a very unknown emperor, built the last magnificent buildings of imperial stature in ancient Rome. We shall also see how Constantine then added a few more buildings, but then abandoned the old capital for his Nova Roma, his new Christian capital in the east. That is when the decline of Rome would start.
