THESE UNITS ARE NOT WATERPROOF! They are water resistant enough to handle the splashing of top deck kayak use. If you submerge the unit and short it out, it is serviceable, you can return it to me for repair, you would be responsible for parts and shipping, no labor charge to repair. The kill switch is a common failure part, it has a test button, test before use. The kill switch is commonly available and easily replaced by the consumer.
