1 - Gonya: “Konya” in Konya Accent.

2 - I would die (Ölürüm): In this context, this phrase expresses affection, i.e. the person saying it would be willing to die for his country.

3 - My Turkey (Türkiyem): Sometimes, in Turkish, using a possessive suffix expresses affection, not possession.

4 - Inshallah (İnşallah): An statement of arabic origin, mainly used by muslims. It literally translates to “God willing” or “If God wills”.

5 - Super (Süper): Same as the English “Super”. It is commonly and informally used in positive exclamations.

6 - The suffixes in these sentences might seem a little off because of the local accent. The proper words are "gidersin" and "yaparsın"; "giden" and "yapan" are vocally shortened versions in the Konyan accent. These can be easily confused with the actual words "giden" or "yapan" in proper Turkish, which mean "people who go" and "people who do" respectively.

7 - A verse from the Adhan, the Islamic Call to Prayer. This particular verse roughly means “Rush to Prayer”.

8 - Hodja (Hoca, Hocam): This word means Master or Teacher in Turkish, originating from the Ottoman Period. It is mainly used for Islamic scholars and imams who have considerable knowledge of the Quran and theology, like in this instance. Today, the use of this word extends to formal school teachers and even certified experts on any particular topic.

9 - Let me tell my mister (Efendime Söyleyeyim): This phrase has no definite meaning, and is mainly used as a vocalized pause in Turkish.
