"Monolith” – Eurorack & Synth Cinematic Ambient – [Ft. NDLR, Pluck, Rings, Magneto & Subharmonicon]

Hi everyone, a longer, constantly evolving ambient piece this time with slightly cinematic feel to it and featuring both the Eurorack system together with the Moog Subharmonicon, Korg Opsix and Korg Micro-X.

All sequencing was handled by the excellent Conductive Labs NDLR v.2 (in the key of D Minor) and the NDLR was manually controlled throughout with my left hand (all out of shot in the accompanying video). NDLR controls both the Eurorack system and external synths via Midi through the Hermod+. The Subharmonicon provides all bass with its filter cut-off gently modulated by Maths and the track starts with Stardust playing a reversed loop together with some mountain stream ambience sampled (from Micro-X) into Beads frozen buffer, with the buffer then being constantly scanned by one of the Ochd LFOs. Rings (as a resonator) fed with granular noise and via Magneto to add a bit of Lo-Fi then fades in. Pluck enters later fed via Clouds and modulated by Ochd. The Ensemble then fades in and is gently swept through a tuned Minor scale by Ochd. The Micro-X provides the wide stereo ping-pong sequence early on in the track and the Kork Opsix provides the background pad washes. The final mix was routed via the Strymon BigSky for the final dose of ambience.

I do hope some of you find it pleasing; and as with all my tracks, no DAW was used and all mixing was undertaken solely within the confines of the modular racks. Recorded into Audacity with just a little added compression. [Good quality speakers or headphones are highly recommended]
