Hexakis thiourea Lead (II) Nitrate trihydrate : Preparation in the lab

Hello friends, in this video we will be preparing the complex hexakis thiourea lead II Nitrate trihydrate..

The preparation is pretty straightforward and involves the use of two reactants

Lead II Nitrate (Plumbous Nitrate) : 6g
Thiourea : 9g

Distilled water

recrystallisation from
50ml water mixed with 10ml of 1M Nitric acid.
The complex has lead ion in the centre bound octahedrally with the sulfur moieties of 6 thiourea molecules.
