How Did a 12-Foot-Tall Silver Monolith End Up in the Desert?

A helicopter pilot in a remote part of Utah found an inexplicable metal monolith protruding from the ground in the desert. After the pilot found the strange object, Utah’s highway patrol shared images of the monolith in the area on Instagram. But what is the strange sculpture?
