More than just about any other car, the Chrysler Cordoba personified the Personal Luxury Coupe Market - while there were countless cars that lified for he class, and many of them better than the Cordoba, none incorporated all of the good and all of the bad the way this Chrysler did - yes, it was roomy, luxurious, fairly well made, mostly V8 powered, and nice to look at - but it was also kind of cheesy and decadent at the same time. Yes, a banker might have driven one to work, but hanging a playboy air freshener inside wouldn't have seemed too out of place. This is one of the reasons I love the Cordoba - it's intensely pretentious yet also unpretentious at the same time - something that isn't easy to pull off.
This review covers the first and second generation Cordobas, and the featured vehicle is a 1981 model, powered by a 225 Slant Six. It has 42K miles, is very well preserved, and is for sale at Autohaus of Naples, on the web at www.AutohausNaples.com, or by phone at (239) 263-8500. The review and test drive are from Bill of Curious Cars.
