ARCS Motivation Model - Learning Design

This is a tutorial created to describe the ARCS Motivation Model. It includes Informing, Confirming, and Transforming activities for learning design scholars, practitioners, and learners... really, anyone interested! Upon request, Dr. Keller was gracious in feedback and below are some of his thoughts (Oct 2013):

"...I thought the Informing /Confirming /Transforming segment was very clever. It is almost always a huge challenge to move from supporting the initial acquisition of knowledge and skills to their transfer and application in a context of work. The theories and empirical evidence have been there for many, many years ranging from Osgood's plane of transfer and Traver's section in his learning theory book to the restatements of these principles by the constructivists using the new metaphor of "authentic," [.... ] but the implementation of these principles in instructional designs is often lacking. I think your strategy for describing this process is interesting and may very well assist this process. [...] Your presentation has nice graphics and provides a very good overview of the categories and subcategories of the ARCS model! [...] For a complete, in-depth, explanation of the ARCS model and how to apply it, see Keller, J.M. (2010). Motivational Design for Learning and Performance: The ARCS Model Approach. Springer." (Personal Correspondence, October 2013)
