Sand Springs Water Works Ruins & Shell Creek Dam; & up the creek to the east to the compact shelter/caves of prehistory with precious art work masterpieces. Our Ole friend Mid Anderson of Sand Springs, Mannford & Osage roots shared alot of history to this special place after our visti. This nucleus of the Crossroads linked to the Osage Lookout Point to the northeast, the Ancient Forest Preserve to the west, Old Fort Arbuckle & the Osage "Starr Crossing" on the Arkansas River to the south. The great ancient cedar forest was near at the Cimarron River mouth. The great Walnut Forest is remembered in name only as Walnut Creek St. Park. The Shell Creek shelter/cave is nortiousy marked as the begining of the cook gang after the coffeville bank robbery. The historic town of Henry was covered by Shell Creek Lake. The Henry Anderson Family had to move again with the inundation of Keystone Lake.
