Lincoln Memorial Centennial Celebration 1922-2022
The Lincoln Memorial remains an enduring national symbol as we celebrate the centennial of its dedication on May 30, 1922. This video illustrates the design competition between architects John Russell Pope and Henry Bacon. Bacon's design was selected for the Lincoln Memorial and Pope went on to design the National Archives Building, among other DC landmark buildings.
