After a short-lived retirement, the madman himself, Ozzy Osbourne recorded a new album titled Ozzmosis, and hit the road on the aptly titled Retirement Sucks Tour. Bringing Prong, Filter and Corrosion of Conformity on a cross-country run of outdoor sheds, this explosive lineup made its way to Star Lake Amphitheater, in Burgettstown, PA, on June 26th, 1996. Returning to Star Lake the next night after Adam Sandler made for a traffic-clogged experience, but well worth the time and effort. A series of crushing opening sets from a killer selection of underground and just-surfacing bands set the tone for an energetic and impactful night of Heavy Metal. Mike "Puffy" Bordin on Drums, Robert Trujillo on Bass and the enigmatic virtuoso Joe Holmes on Guitar, Ozzy led his band through a wide-ranging set beginning with Black Sabbath classics and running up through his own exemplary catalog. With an absolutely rabid crowd and an even more maniacal Ozzy at center stage the entire night is still one of the most memorable highlights from more than three decades of live concert attendance.
