Golden Spike Celebration at Steam Into History

Northern Central 4-4-0 #17 "York" is joined by Central Pacific 4-4-0 #63 "Leviathan" for a recreation of the Golden Spike Celebration. Both engines are set up to recreate the 1869 completion of the Transcontinental Railroad.

This also marked a chance for both replica 4-4-0s built by David Kloke to run together. Leviathan was built in 2009, and York was built for Steam Into History in 2013. Both Civil War era replicas make a striking scene in the Pennsylvania landscape.
