Juan les Pins, a picturesque resort on the French Riviera. Living the French Dolce Vita.

Located in the Alpes-Maritimes region of southeastern France, the city of Antibes sits between Nice and Cannes and includes the small town of Juan-les-Pins, a picturesque resort. Juan-les Pins became the summer resort on the Riviera in the 1920s. The Nice restaurateur Mr. Baudoin bought a stretch of land in 1924 and opened a restaurant and a small casino, and the rest is history. By 1930 Juan-les-Pins had become not only the most popular resort on the French Riviera but also the favorite location of one of America’s greatest writers, Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald. It was on the French Riviera that Fitzgerald finished The Great Gatsby and met Gerald and Sara Murphy—the glamorous couple that Fitzgerald would use as the inspiration for his last novel, Tender is The Night. Today, this town with its traditional restaurants, beaches, markets and shops, it is a French destination that still holds on tight to the true French way of life. It has all the beauty of the better-known coastal villages but a fraction of the crowds. The streets are relatively free of bargain hunting tourists. This slower pace means you can revel in town’s old world ambiance. This gorgeous city is a little is a medieval beauty waiting to be explored. Enjoy and have a beautiful day.
