"Rock Steady" by The Whispers was released on June 13, 1987. To date this song is their highest charting single on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, peaking at #7 in late Augus. It was also their second and final number one on the Hot Black Singles chart after their massive disco hit, "And The Beat Goes On."

Original members, Wallace "Scotty" and Walter Scott (identical twin brothers) performed with Leaveil Degree, a former Friends of Distinction member, who joined the group in 1973. They still had those smooth vocals and dance moves that got the audience up on their feet for most of the show. A dance classic that lives up to its name.
