The Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle Mark III (GSLV Mk III) is a three-stage medium-lift launch vehicle developed by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). It is primarily designed to launch communication satellites into geostationary orbit, but it is also capable of launching crewed missions.
The GSLV Mk III is the most powerful launch vehicle in India's fleet, with a lift-off mass of 640 tons. It is 43.5 meters tall and has a payload capacity of up to 4,000 kilograms in geosynchronous transfer orbit (GTO).
The first stage of the GSLV Mk III is powered by two solid-fuel S200 boosters. The second stage is powered by a liquid-fuel L110 engine. The third stage is powered by a cryogenic C25 engine.
The GSLV Mk III has been successfully launched 6 times since its maiden flight in 2014. It has launched a variety of satellites, including the GSAT-19 communication satellite and the Chandrayaan-2 lunar mission.
