اودین، وقتی دید هلا بیش از حد تشنه‌ی قدرت شده و دیگه قابل کنترل نیست، تصمیم گرفت اونو توی دنیای مردگان یا همون "هِل‌هایم" زندانی کنه. این مکان یکی از نه قلمرو معروف توی اساطیر نورس و دنیای ماروله. توی فیلم "ثور: رگناروک"، هلا سال‌ها اونجا زندانی بود، تا اینکه با مرگ اودین، طلسم‌ها شکسته شدن و اون آزاد شد.

البته توی اساطیر اصلی، هلا دختر لوکیه، نه اودین، و فرمانروای دنیای مردگانه. اما مارول برای جذاب‌تر شدن داستان، این قسمت رو تغییر داده.

Odin, when he saw that Hela had become too power-hungry and uncontrollable, decided to imprison her in the realm of the dead—known as Hel or Helheim. This place is one of the nine realms in Norse mythology and the Marvel universe. In the movie Thor: Ragnarok, Hela was trapped there for years until Odin’s death, which broke the magical seals and set her free.

Interestingly, in actual Norse mythology, Hel is the daughter of Loki—not Odin—and she rules the land of the dead. But Marvel changed this part of the story for a more dramatic twist.
