Hey there, amazing people! Welcome back to my blog, Life of a Female Truck Driver, and in this video, I want to talk to you all about the Electronic Logging Device (ELD). Now, as truckers, we all know how important it is to manage our driving hours and stay compliant with the regulations. And that's where the ELD comes into play.

Recently, I found myself in a situation where heavy traffic in Texas was eating away at my driving time. You know how crazy the traffic can get here if we don't plan ahead. It was getting really close to violating my logbook hours, so I had to make a quick decision. I decided to pull off onto a side ramp to park.

Thankfully, here in Texas, they have designated pull-off areas that are spacious enough for us truckers to safely and legally park our trucks and trailers without obstructing anyone. Parking has always been a challenge for us truckers, but these designated areas make it a bit easier to find a safe spot.

Now, in certain situations like bad weather, safety concerns, or accidents, we are allowed to use what's called Personal Conveyance (PC) to travel to a safe haven or find secure parking. It's a relief to know that we have this option when we need it the most.

I was able to find parking, although it wasn't the most ideal spot. But hey, safety comes first, right? So, even if the parking isn't perfect, as long as it's safe and legal, it's a win in my book.
