Pinhole camera

📷 How to Make a Pinhole Camera (Simple DIY)
A pinhole camera is a very simple camera without a lens. It works because light travels in straight lines and forms an inverted image on a screen.
🧰 Materials Needed
A cardboard box or shoebox
Black paper or black paint
Aluminium foil
Pin or needle
Butter paper / tracing paper / white paper
Tape or glue
Scissors
🔧 Steps to Make the Pinhole Camera
1️⃣ Prepare the Box
Take a shoebox or cardboard box.
Cover the inside with black paper or paint it black so light does not reflect inside.
2️⃣ Make the Screen
Cut a square hole on one side of the box.
Tape butter paper or tracing paper over it.
This will be the screen where the image appears.
3️⃣ Make the Pinhole
On the opposite side of the box, cut a small square.
Tape a piece of aluminium foil over the hole.
Use a pin to make a tiny hole in the foil (this is the pinhole).
4️⃣ Close the Box
Close the box tightly with tape so no extra light enters.
5️⃣ Use the Camera
Point the pinhole side toward a bright object (like a window or tree).
Look at the butter paper screen inside.
✅ You will see a small upside-down image of the object.
🔬 Why the Image Is Upside Down
Light from the top of the object goes to the bottom of the screen and light from the bottom goes to the top, so the image appears inverted.
