Visiting the Deaf School in Mexico City (CDMX)
In my motherland, I visited the Deaf school in Mexico City (CDMX) 🇲🇽, it's called Ippliap Educación. What I like about this school? Deaf teachers here believe that Language acquisition and Deaf role models are crucial for Deaf children. I'm also thrilled to see diverse Deaf Mexican teachers here and how Hearing teachers are required to know or learn LSM. *Note: Marina is signing in both sign languages. She's mixing LSM and International Sign in order to reach worldwide viewers.*

*I didn't realize what IPPLIAP stands for until I was just editing this video. I don't like how IPPLIAP includes "Para Problemas de Lenguajes y Aprendizaje" (which means"for language and learning problems") - because it's not a "problem." Sign langauge is a real language (but of course, many Hearing people don't see it that way). It's not perfect yet but I still like what these Deaf & Hearing teachers doing for the children!
UPDATE: about the namem IPPLIAP:
"Regarding the name of IPPLIAP, it must be taken into account that the institution was founded more than 50 years ago, at that time the IPPLIAP had an oralist and rehabilitation vision very different from what it has today. In addition to that, since its beginning it has served not only deaf children, but also hearing children who actually have language and learning problems, and is currently dedicated both to the education of deaf children in the morning, and to the attention of hearing children with language and learning problems in the afternoon. To the above, it should be added that in Mexico the legal change of the name of an institution is extremely complicated" - Emilio P. Perez
