Braised, Baconed and Browned Mashed Potatoes -- Not Boiled
Loaded mashed potatoes are always a hit. A viewer asked me, "Why do Americans use so much water cooking potatoes? I don't know, but it isn't needed and less water means more flavor, more nutrition and less waste.
Ingredients
2 Pounds Potatoes
1/4 Cup Broth -- Chicken or Beef
1 Stick Butter (1/4 Cup)
2 Green Onions
3 Strips Bacon
Grated Cheese, enough to cover, about a cup. Depends on your pan size.
Salt to taste (about 1 Teaspoon)
1/4 Teaspoon Thyme
1/4 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
Freshly Ground Black Pepper to Taste
